You can improve speed, health, attack, and defense. Royal Jellybean is the most valuable resource you can gather. In Between battles you can build more rooms and collect resources. You have to build carefully because a badly shaped colony can be attacked by hostile insects and you endanger your safety. You need to complete missions to unlock new ant types and rooms.

As you progress more and more options become available. There are documentary-like voice-overs.įirstly, you can make space for growing more larvae and expand your colony. The overall design and the soundtrack which come with it, make you feel like a real ant colony. This shows the photorealistic and easy-to-look graphics of the game. In the beginning, you have a queen in a nest, who lays eggs, and 2-3 workers. The game takes place in a laboratory where you can set the options or you can exit. 4.1 lets you do that since Aphids exist and provide you a powerful boost to your food production. The game began in a lab with your formicarium (ant colony) which will be the HQ of your missions. Pervasive is also highly recommended for 4.2 since you want to be keeping your population high and not senselessly throwing it away.

Yeah, you're giving up a buff on spawn, but having that extra food and safety net of free ants should you run into trouble is something I feel is more important. It amplifies the already useful cost efficiency of the Fire Ants and give you more wiggle room early on, making losses much less painful. I've gotten better use out of Pervasive in general simply because it allows you to save on food, which is critically important in the early and mid game.

Vigorous is really good if you've got a lot of food and it's perfect for sustained assaults but you're not guaranteed to have that early on. Originally posted by DatPinkPuffball:I personally prefer Pervasive.
